This is a fun place to visit with the family. We have been several times. Be sure to visit the big salt water tank during feeding time. The little kids like getting their pictures with the SCUBA diver in the background. The shark tunnel with the moving walk way is also very cool.
The Aquarium is very nice for children but be prepared to pay extra ( after a substantial entrance fee) for things like the boat ride. Which of course the children will beg for. Thank goodness for the playland at the snack bar. Also, beware posted sale prices in the store as they will ring up regular and heaven forbid you are busy herding cats and don't watch for it. Your bad. So sorry. So instead of ten or eleven dollars more it's eighteen.
Another tourist exploit. I seriously wish there was a place kids could go to see some sharks and other interesting fish without paying so much. The facility is amazing and the staff was helpful we just didn’t think it was worth $90 for our family. Not to mention the $3 to feed sting rays .05 cents worth of food. Or $26 to buy a $1 picture of the family. I realize these things have costs but I guess we are just getting tired of rediuculous prices.
We (2 adults and 2 kids age 6 and 3) absolutely loved the Ripley's Aquarium! Not only was Ripley's amazing, but the entire Broadway center was amazing. We visited this are 4 different times during our 5 day stay. The shops and restaurants were all great. We purchased our aquarium tickets online as we sat in the parking lot which saved about $12 for our entire party. There were lots of exhibits with hands on activities to offer, plus a small play area and concession halfway through. We didn't do any other attractions at the aquarium but spent a good 2.5 hours walking through. Awesome trip!
I think the sharks and stingrays were my favorite. Enjoyed getting to touch a jellyfish swimming for the first time without being stung!! Also got to touch stingrays and horseshoe crabs - how cool is that?! The tanks were all well kept and the aquatics were just beauitful. Plenty of room for everyone. Handicap accessible which made it easier on my knees. Staff was pleasant and eager to answer questions. Highlight of our afternoon!!
