Myrtle Beach is dotted with little stores that sell the very basics of liquor, with all of the standard fares, and nothing noteworthy. Owen's, on the other hand, carries the basic but also the higher-ups material, with an extensive selection. And by higher-ups, I mean the very top-shelf. If you're into bourbon, for example, they have various selections of Orphan Barrel, plus the much sought-after Pappy's. They also have an outstanding selection of Scotch as well. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful. By far, this was the very best establishment I visited in South Carolina. As someone once said, life is too short to drink cheap liquor. Definitely a 5 star establishment.
Great service, selection, and prices. When visiting Myrtle Beach this is the only red dot store we visit.
We stopped in on a whim, looking for a nice bottle of tequila for a gift (for a margarita lover). The sales clerk was extremely knowledgeable and helped us weed through "name" vs. "quality". We ended up purchasing scotch and wine as well. The clerk did not get frustrated or tired of our plethora of questions. Because they are a distributor, their prices were much better than other stores in the area.
Always a good experience here. They have employees that are actually knowledgeable. It's sad how rare that is today, but here you'll find it. Great selection of hard-to-find products at surprisingly good prices (IMO), and just look at this wine selection!
