Right off the bat, one of the best meals I have ever had. I would pay the price time and time again till I ran out of money. Exceptional service, the best ocean view at a restaurant that I have had. The dining room is very small, maybe 15 tables at most, which added to the intimate tailored service. The food was 100% local and regional and beyond delicious. The daily catch is a definite recommend, it is caught 20 minutes away in Murrells Inlet, and if you are a steak lover you have to get the Delmonico, one of the best pieces of meat I've had. 10/10 you must try it.
To round out this "fine dining" experience, the plate included mashed potatoes shaped into a disk and fried crispy on each side. These were actually good, and they would get two stars if that was all I had received.
Got there at 9:15 and there was nobody else dining; it was completely empty other than four people at the bar. Should have taken the sign and left, but, sadly, we stayed.
I ordered a 6 oz steak, medium rare. It came pre-sliced, which means it was cold within minutes. There were three very small slices of meat. It was literally eight bites of steak. The end piece was absolutely shoe leather: black and hard on one side and cooked to dryness on the other. The meat was sitting on some kind of sauce that was tasty, but a bit congealed.
The food was good went for happy hour. Felt the food and drinks were overpriced for what you get. There are better places to go for happy hour that are still close to the resort.
There were green beans (haricots-verts! fancy!). They were so tough that I didn't eat them after masticating on one for an inordinate amount of time. I am a huge green bean fan, so I was sorely disappointed.
The view is great and it's a little gem that most people are not aware of...check it out!
My companion got the tuna. It was a reasonable portion, and very good, accompanied by spicy pineapple salsa and some kind of green rice.
Food isn't worth the price. The grill food was better which we had after we left there.
Probably some of the best food we have ever had! I ordered the shrimp and grits and it was the best I have ever eaten. My husband had the brisket, bbq and shrimp plate and he loved the SC version of the BBQ and said the greens were ridiculously good.
