I have always found both the Sales Reps and the Geek Squad reps knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. I've never had a problem with either section. I have found that if you want Geek Squad help, it is best to make an appointment.
I've had a TV die before and Best Buy bent over backwards to help. They took it in through the Geek Squad, Best Buy for repair. They then lost it and provided me a newer model at no cost. Can't get better than that for service.
In July I purchased a washer/dryer from Best Buy for over $2,000. I planned on paying for it with my debit card. The salesman told me if I were to get a Best Buy credit card that I could get 10% of what I was spending back in "rewards" that were good on future Best Buy purchases. The salesman filled out the application for me and had me sign it. I was immediately approved. When my first bill arrived I paid the balance in full. For 3 months now, every 2 weeks I have been calling about the rewards. Each of these calls require long wait times, multiple disconnections. Then each time I struggle to understand someone who speaks little English. After 3 months of calls that tell me I will receive them in the mail in 7 to 10 day, until today when I was told I requested 18 months interest free financing, WHICH I DID NOT, instead of my rewards.
Sales rep was both knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly. He knew what he had and found us an "open box" on an item that gave us more than what we were looking for at less than the price for what we specifically wanted (my niece wasn't sure she wanted touch screen but after getting it is thrilled).
Went to buy a couple of firesticks to give away as presents for Christmas. They had more than enough in stock. I was also able to look at some of the deals they had. Floor models for little to nothing. Staff was friendly
Chris in computers is a huge jerk. My mom went in looking for help for a Christmas present idea for my brother. She simply stated that she wanted to know of any deals they had going on. Chris rudely responded “you come In after Black Friday asking for deals?” To which she responded nicely back that she wanted an explanation of prices to models. While trying to receive help, Chris also spoke in to his headset “not right now I’m tied up with a customer”. Sorry Chris, I thought customer service was your job and are so sorry you were “tied up” with a paying customer. Not only that but when he asked what the laptop was going to be for, he insisted that it would be used for “gaming” when my teenage brother does not “game”. Upon telling him this, Chris made my mother feel foolish and like he had some superior knowledge of my brother that my mother did not. This was ridiculous and my mother will not step foot in to this store again due to one persons poor execution of the stores “customer service” value.
Not happy with the advertising. Loyal Best Buy customer for many years. Went to buy a Sharp 50” TV they had advertised on Thanksgiving. Drove 35 minutes and got there a half hour before the store opened. As I got into the line which was not that long they announced that the tv was not available. Frustrating. Best Buy - you are better then that type of advertising.
