Can I leave zero stars? I should've read the reviews before booking with this company. Shame on me. THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE experience I have ever had. I waited in line for an hour at the myrtle beach location even after pre-reserving a vehicle online. I was given the wrong vehicle and charged extra for insurance coverage. The customer service (if you can even call her that) representative belittled and rushed me while I took the time to read fine print for coverage on the vehicle. I was then ridiculed and ignored when I came back in to advise they had given me the wrong vehicle. Due to the mis-booking of my reservation and LACK of communication from the customer service representative, I was charged a grand total of $275 for having the vehicle for two days and almost missed my flight to Charlotte. In definition "thrifty" means to "use money carefully and not wastefully". Maybe thrifty should consider a name change since they are dishonest about their vehicle options and prices initially only to charge you significantly later without telling you. I would rather hitchhike than book with this company ever again.
These jerks tried to screw my husband by trying to get us to upgrade our reserved Kia to a Charger for an extra 58 dollars a day. He said no way, so they offered it to him for less. He said no again. We have the Charger because there were no regular sedans left. Very deceitful and wrong in my book, but maybe that's just because I'm a good person.
We had a totally positive rental experience with Thrifty in Myrtle Beach. Fast counter staff, very friendly and helpful and a comfy Jeep to drive. Thank you Ginger, for making our vacation a little better.
0 stars!!!!The most horrible experience every...DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!! The care was nasty and not cleaned. The rep at the counter told me thats all that was available and ask me if I could put a towel over the seat where food had been spilt. UNBELIEVABLE. Then I spent 1 hour on phone trying to get a different vehicle. Never Happened. Now I'm on phone with them again because they failed to give me the credit they agreed to. Instead they charge me $70 extra.
Made reservations on May 1,2017 and we checked in on May 19th,. It was real late at night almost midnight. I had all my paperwork with us. I put my husband as primary driver. The counter person without a name tag waited on us. She wouldn't even look at the papers and said I'm talking to him! Well, I booked the air, car and hotel and I had the confirmations. She wouldn't read any of them and she charged us AGAIN FOR INSURANCE. I tried to tell her I already paid $30.00 plus tax on a policy and had our own car insurance in Michigan thru Horace Mann, she wouldn't even talk or look at me. My husband paid the rental, plus fees and ANOTHER INSURANCE! We were so tired and I asked her where is the car she pointed out in the dark.I asked where do we return it, over there and what do we do with the keys, lock them inside or what? She said in the drop box! Really poor service!
