The area is filled with plenty of shops, restaurants and other places to visit while you are there so take advantage of it. I enjoyed my stay and will visit again :)
The "features" of the hotel are very misleading. While they do have a water park, hot tub, and similar amenities available for use they are all off-site. You must either take their shuttle or drive to Embassy Suites, a partner hotel down the road, in order to make use of them. Access to a pool, kiddie pool, and the beach were all very convenient.
We were told we could not use the luggage dolly because that was only a feature for the "full service" section of the hotel...with bags + 2 children to wrangle it was cumbersome to say the least.
Starbucks lovers: the hotel has one however it is a licensed store which means they make their own rules (or the hotel does!) and also means you cannot use your Starbucks Card there! I was very unhappy about this and even Tweeted Starbucks to complain. So just be prepared to pay and not receive any 'stars' for your purchase. :(
Restraunt serves delicious meals. We had lunch and dinner so far with no complaints.
Staff are very polite and helpful. Room is clean and about as up to date as can be. Our room has a view of the pools and the ocean with a balcony.
The room itself was extremely small and cramped feeling. In addition to that, the air conditioner did not seem to keep the room completely cool. Overnight/mornings the room was very humid inside even though the door to the balcony was left shut. We had issues with the overall layout of the hotel due to high wind conditions. The breezeway was like a vacuum and it was difficult to open doors to the section where our room was located. It also caused loud noises from under our hotel room door. There was some food under one of the beds as well as some stains on one of the towels in the room. Otherwise, the room was tidy and the hotel overall was very well maintained.
This is the worst Hilton property I have ever stayed at! We have a group of about ten people here for work and each week has been a new surprise. The first week one of my coworkers had bed bugs with bites all over him! Now a few weeks later another coworker found a blood stain on the sheets accompanied with more bed bugs! When talking to the front desk, they did not seem to care saying "oh housekeeping will look into that tomorrow." We stay in a lot of hotels for work and this is unacceptable. Also there are cockroaches everywhere and the rooms have carpet stains and nasty dingy tile. For a hotel that is not cheap and includes a 'resort' fee in the price I am very disappointed. The hotel is in a great location but we can no longer risk taking bed bugs back home so we will be taking our business elsewhere.
Parking is on site. Not many handicapped spots on the lower level or even near the hotel entrance. It is off season so things may be different if you come in season.
My honey and I stayed here 12/27 - 12/30. Nice room with awesome view of the ocean. When I arrived, I initially had a double bed room w/view. However, after seeing the size of the beds, clearly the beds (queen size?) was only big enough for 1 person. I was shocked at how small the queen size beds were. I called down to the front desk to see if I requested the correct room/beds when I made my reservation. The patient front desk representative decided to change my reservation to a king size bed with no additional cost to me. It worked out perfectly. The hotel was beautiful, however it shares space with another resort hotel the Royal Plaza right next door. Therefore parking could potentially be crowded depending on what time of year you visit. The room I had did not have a microwave which meant we couldn't warm up any food that we may have brought back to the room. I'm not sure if other rooms have microwaves, but if not, this is a MAJOR downer for those that like to perhaps pick up some food items for the time they are there instead of paying high priced hotel food. Our room did have a fridge which we mainly just kept our beverages in. Housekeeping was pretty decent, no complaints there. Only other gripe I have with the room is that the bathroom was a bit small. Trying to fit in there if you have 'generous' hips may make for an uncomfortable experience, but a little 'side stepping' will help ease the situation. :)

Our stay at the Royal Palms which is part of the Hilton Resort was excellent. The condo was professionally decorated. Kitchen fully stocked for cooking. Nice appliances & counter space. Rooms were very large as well as the bathrooms. Large balcony with dinette set for eating a meal while enjoying the wonderful views. We were on the 7th floor so using the elevator was needed but not an issue of wait time for usage. Would recommend the Royal Palms to anyone.
