We went from 10/15-10/18, enjoyed our stay. The Oceanfront view was beautiful. The swim up bar, lazy river, and hot tub was nice. I will go back, but I will not go through my job discount. When I went to check in I was charged an extra $114 for booking through priceline (which my job uses). I will book straight through their website. I didn't want to go to another hotel after driving several hours!
Stayed for 3 days during the week. It was really nice. Rooms were clean and had a great view. Pool was pretty nice with a little swim up bar. Also has a bar in the lobby. You get access to captain headquarters pool and bowling alley as well for staying at hotel blue. The bowling alley is nice and drinks are amazing but it needs updated and cleaned. Staff was all very friendly at both hotels. This hotel had more elevators than other hotels I have visited so that was a plus too!
"Run Down" Terrible
We are staying at Hotel Blue to celebrate Christmas in room 1402. The room layout is not what I thought I requested first off, but we are dealing with it. My main issue with this room is the cleanliness overall. The curtains were old and nasty with spots of blood and dirt all over them. Additionally, the toilet in the hallway does flush. Maintenance has been in several times to fix the toilet and it still does not work. The curtains have not been replaced after telling the PM manger. I will not stay at this hotel every again and recommend no on else come here while visiting at Myrtle Beach as well.
My wife and I stayed one (1) night (THANK GOD!!). Booked because it looked really nice on the website and the price was good (I THOUGHT). After all the taxes/fees and a "parking fee" the price was "jacked an extra $32. Really, I have stayed in MB a LOT and have NEVER BEEN CHARGED A "PARKING FEE". Floors were tile and "slick" like they had oil on them. Furniture in bedroom had a "FORMICA" top and was pretty "beat up". The reception area looked like a BAR in the corner of a room. Bottom line: STAY AWAY...FAR AWAY!!! I learned my lesson...There are plenty of hotels for same price or cheaper that are FAR BETTER
Don't do it! The staff was very polite, but the accommodations were not desirable. My stay wasn't pleasant at all, the first room they assigned us wasn't clean, it still had dirty dishes in the sink and the beds looked as though someone just got out of them. The second room was clean but had a strong syrup smell like droppings from a rodent or insect. The rooms are very dated. They tried to do some upgrading with paint and nails but missed. When they painted they didn't take the curtains down because they all had paint on them. I booked my stay on a website so I, just could just pick up and leave or I would have. The bed was broken, we called downstairs to maintenance and they sent a person up right away to resolve the issue, but the whole stay I hoping the bed doesn't collapse with my kids on it. The WALLS ARE PAPER THIN! you can hear everything in the hall, next room and below you. The one beautiful thing about the hotel was the view. If they took the time to really put some money into the place it would be great. But for right now it's just Lipstick on a Pig!
