Rooms need to be updated. All the furniture is very old and the upholstery and carpet looks dirty. Our patio carpet had rips in it and the wallpaper in the room was peeling off the walls. Saw lots of cockroaches on our room balcony after dark. Also saw a cockroach on the wall in one of the other guest rooms that we rented. I let the desk know about all of this and they gave me about 10% off of my bill. I had purchased four rooms for four days. I was not even able to use my balcony and enjoy the ocean view after seeing all the cockroaches. I don't think 10 % off our bill is sufficient for finding our rooms in that condition. On the upside, the set up with the rocking chairs outback facing the ocean is very nice and relaxing. And Marjorie, one of the staff members, was very sweet and my eight-year-old son fell in love with her. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back to stay again… Unless we just stop in to see Marjorie.
We initially booked an eight day family vacation in a different hotel (Crown Reef) but after checking into that dirty, disgusting, cheap, dump, with rude service (non-existing service), we immediately checked back out; unfortunately, this left us without a place to stay and our vacation in jeopardy. I contacted Island Vista and spoke to Laurie (a very pleasant and VERY helpful desk employee). I told her our situation and she went out of her way to make sure our vacation wasn't ruined. And even though they were booked solid, she got us in by using their "room switch" feature. We were so thankful to Laurie, as she truly saved our vacation. The hotel and rooms were clean and very nicely decorated. Our kids loved the 2 pools, lazy river, and 2 Jacuzzi. All of the staff were extremely helpful and courteous. The beach was will kept and was never crowded. It started out as one of our worst vacations ever (because of the disgusting Crown Reef) but ended up being one of our most relaxing vacations ever, thanks to Laurie and the Island Vista.
A beautiful setting and view of the ocean! The service in the bar and restaurant was impeccable! I highly recommend this place
Great resort. Grounds are beautiful. Room views are stunning. But having breakfast at the Cypress Room is always a pleasure.
Love this place. Come here yearly with kids. Rooms are clean and nice. Free DVD rental in lobby. Several swimming pools open all year round. Cypress Room is pricey but delicious. We received a gift card during check in to eat there. Staff is super friendly.
