The room was supposed to come with free breakfast vouchers. When we tried to get them, the new front desk manager (Merly) told us that we didn't pay the higher price that included the "free" vouchers. Ha. Didn't pay for the FREE breakfast.
Made a reservation with the hotel online in the evening for the wrong dates by mistake. Didn't realize the error until I woke up the next morning (less than 12 hours since the reservation was made) and called them to reschedule my reservation. Only to find out that they were unwilling to either reschedule my reservation OR refund my $70.00 deposit! I would have recognized the mistake earlier if my receipt for the booking would have come in BEFORE the 11:00 pm cut-off time for rescheduling (receipt is time-date stamped for 12:42 am exactly!) "It is considered a no-show" is what I was told. My husband works in the hotel and hospitality field and knows that this is not true. Because it is the "slow" season they simply DO NOT want to part with the money. But I would have taken a different reservation night??? No one even tried to explain the process nor assist me in ANY way...terrible customer service and policies. I will never stay there nor recommend.
OK place to stay on the ocean, but very narrow kitchen, bath, shower areas. The master bedroom is setup right inside the main door to the room, with the living room setup next to the balcony, facing the ocean. That means parents would not have the room with a view, as kids would likely use the Murphy and sofa beds in living room. Corridors and all floors in room are fairly dirty, as the bottoms of your feet or white socks will attest. Pools and sunning areas are nice. Breakfast buffet is solid, great made to order omelets, biscuits and gravy, French toast and outstanding bacon. Even better when you get breakfast tickets comped. Attached Starbucks is convenient, no doubt, but don't expect to use your rewards card fully, they do no accept your free drink rewards. Unlikely we'd ever stay here again with so many choices, unless they do room renovations and flip the main bedroom to the oceanfront side.
This place has been so amazing. The only downfall has been the room wasn't spotless clean. I like things spotless cleaned but I understand that not everything will be that way. The reason places like this should be spotless clean. My almost 2 year old found a pill on the floor. It wasn't something over the counter kinda pill. It scares me that she could have taken it without me knowing anything. Thank goodness that she brought it too me! Other then that this place is amazing, love the heated pool area. So much stuff the my little babies can do. Breakfast bar is yummy and coffee shop! We have the 3 bedroom oceanfront condo and it's beautiful. I don't have to stick in a room with other family members! Even has a little washer and dryer so that means I don't have to do so much dirt laundry when I get home!
Room has recently been renovated. Very nice! Cleaning staff was fantastic. Enjoyed the lazy river, hot tubs and sauna.
Stayed here for a long weekend and thought it was great. Early on Saturday I was relaxing by the pool and they had an entertainer come and tell jokes and play music and he had everyone dancing. The water park was small but very enjoyable. The water slide was much faster then it looks. Overall I recommended this place. Priced fairly and the rooms are nice.
Have enjoyed Long Bay for years and will come back... even with the "free" breakfast scam.
